Pie Social & Contest

If our community bakes 300 Pies for this event, we can earn $6,000!

We know you are all fabulous bakers. So don’t be shy, bring us pie!

One of the most exciting parts of the day is sure to be the pie competition.  Bakers are invited to bring pies to be judged by parents and a panel of celebrity judges.

The panel will consist of Gail Simmons, Food & Wine and “Top Chef,” Dannielle Kyrillos, “Top Chef: Just Desserts,” Chef Marc Anthony Bynum of Food Network’s Chopped, and MooBurger and local restaurant owner Jeff Lederman, of Strong Place, Bocca Lupo and Nectar.   The winner will receive a gift package from Food & Wine and bragging rights for the year!  Judging will take place at 1pm.

Please complete this form and submit it to ps29eatpieandshop(at)gmail.com, drop off with your classroom teacher or PTA mailbox in the main office.  The classroom with the most donated pies wins a pizza party!

(NOTE: If you forget to fill in form, it’ okay. We will welcome your pie anytime on Sunday. However, competition starts at 10:30 AM)

Don’t forget, you can top off that pie with frozen custard from Shake Shack, or feed your savory side with ‘Grumble Grumble” grilled cheese from Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain.

ie Social is sure to be a delicious and entertaining afternoon event with local bakers – both amateurs and professionals – supplying a wide array of pies.  Be assured this event is not only for those with a sweet tooth, the pies will cover all categories including fruit, creamy, savory and nut, so shoppers can come to shop, eat lunch and get dessert!  To top off the pie, kids and adults can both enjoy delicious frozen custard from Danny Meyer’s, Shake Shack.  And make sure to feed your savory side, with famous ‘Grumble Grumble’ grilled cheese sandwiches donated by Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain.
